But lets get to the point. Saber! My waifu came! Oh wonderful joy. Yeah, I'm happy. Here we have her in her box. The box is huge, even bigger than my Saber Lily from Alter.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here we have the back of the box, with a close up and some stupid warnings. Maybe if you can see, the outside of the box is shiny, which isn't something I've seen on boxes before.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
This is her seen through the front window in the box. As you can see she's very eager to get the hell out of that stupid box already.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
So here we have her in the plastic casing. As you can see she's already in her battle pose. Beside her on each side are her two sword accessories. Also on the far left and right next to the sword is the little pin to make Saber "float" in the air.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
When I wanted to get her out of the plastic I was surprised. I couldn't get it to open because it was secured with wire, right through the box on places such as her leg. It was secured with three of these little rascals, untying them was annoying too.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Sadly, I made a few pictures of closeups of the plastic and it's contents. Sadly, they were so blurry I couldn't even make out what was going on. So here we have the base. It's huge, and without a doubt the largest I have so far. It's also the most detailed I have too.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here's a close up of the accessories. Pretty neat swords I must say. In the middle is the pin-stand to make Saber "fly" or "float".
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
On the end of each swords are little "lids". You can take these off so you can slide the sword in her hands. With these on it would be a real tight fit, which could damage your paints.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Haha, here she is in my hobo lightbox, a tip from Hip Hop Hikikomori. The box I used wasn't the largest, but gee, she can barely fit in there. Most of my other figures worked out fine when I considered building it. Well, I guess we'll have to turn back to how I used to photograph them before I built the lightbox. I'll use it later on, when I'll review a smaller figure.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
So here she is again, now in a more spacious habitat. As you can see, she's ready to take your head. Which she will if you make a wrong move, I bet. If you look closely, you can see her skirt. It doesn't look amazing on photo, but it looks real good if you look at it with your own eyes. It really looks like fabric. The same goes for her wavy flap of fabric in front of her legs.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here we have a close up of her breast plate. As you can see they're very well encased. There's nice detail on her plate there, and the paint quality is real nice. I see no flaws at this moment.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here's her behind. Here you can really see the look of the fabric of the white lacey dress underneath her blue cape thing. Also even more clearly on this picture you can see her steel armor hangin loose over the fabrics.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Delicious Saber butt. Covered up quite well as the lady she is.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here we have another front view, this time with her other sword. I like both but I've chosen for the flashy "energy" sword for now. As I like to switch things I'm sure the regular sword will get it's turn too.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Here's a last size comparison. Beside her you see the Misaka figure I reviewed earlier. As you can see she's a lot smaller. Saber is also really heavy. I'd almost be afraid she'd have gotten fat, but of course it's the armor that makes her so heavy. I'll be keeping my eye on her.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Well, at the end of all this, I must say I like it a lot. GoodSmile Company delivered a fine figure. As of now it probably is one of my favorite figurines I own. On another note, I've never reviewed, or shown off(whichever you think fits best), so quickly after receiving it. Only a mere half an hour after I got it, I made the pictures and stared writing this. I hope you enjoyed this review, and I hope you enjoyed my others. If there are any suggestions for improving this, don't hesitate at all. I'll try my best to present my girls to you the best I can.
Congratulations on picking up saber! She is indeed a marvelous figure. I tried ripping open the plastic cover in a hurry too..than was cursing the whole time I was undoing the plastic ties haha. It's good to see yours didn't come with the shoulder problem either. Some people have received her with her left shoulder covering up her mouth.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of the review, it was very informative! Very useful to someone considering a purchase. Keep it up!!
I have to order her now but I'm in need of money ;_;
ReplyDelete>Some people have received her with her left shoulder covering up her mouth.
ReplyDeleteYeah I know. When looking at pictures online and on the box itself, it's still covering it up a little more than shown in pictures. However it's not so much as other people have experienced.
>I have to order her now but I'm in need of money ;_;
Being broke is the worst ;_;
Oh man, that is a gorgeous figure. If I wasn't such a poorfag I'd pick up one for myself.
ReplyDeleteCool1 *.*

ReplyDeleteI've ordered so much right now I can't order anything else. Kind of shitty. But at least I have my figurines. ;_;
I laughed at the hobo lightbox. I think you did it wrong.
ReplyDeleteAll of these posts are likely to make me poor in the future.
Very cool :)
ReplyDeleteWow, very nice. That stand is especially awesome.
ReplyDeleteAh, that is very nice! Lots of great pictures..!
ReplyDeleteSaber is so beautiful, GSC figures are the best ♥
ReplyDeleteI hate customs. One time had to pay around €12/$17 for a CD.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, by the way.
Fate/ Stay Night? It could be my pick for the greatest source of unvoluntary humor, and also its designs are cool, so congratulations
ReplyDeleteCool Story Bro!;)
